Current mode PWM controller for off-line and DC-DC power supply applications. Features trimmed oscillator for precise frequency control up to 500kHz, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, internal reference with undervoltage lockout (16V on/10V off), and high-current totem pole output suitable for driving N-channel MOSFETs. The UC3844B variant includes a toggle flip-flop limiting duty cycle to <50%.

Why does this need a breakout?
The 1.27mm pitch and surface-mount pads on this eight-pin package are difficult to hand-solder reliably and incompatible with standard breadboards. A breakout board lets you prototype with through-hole connectors and larger pads, dramatically reducing assembly frustration while maintaining electrical integrity for sensitive analog and switching applications.
